Tigers Trounce Saint Louis, 18-4

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri baseball piled up 18 runs on 17 hits to rout Saint Louis, 18-4, in seven innings on Tuesday evening at Taylor Stadium.

Mizzou (12-2) had 11 players produce a base hit in the runaway victory, led by Nander De Sedas and Fox Leum. De Sedas finished 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBI. Leum added a 2-for-3 day as well with three RBI. Jackson Beaman drove in three runs and Ty Wilmsmeyer chipped in a pair to give the Tigers four players with multi-RBI days.

The Tigers scored six in the first to jumpstart the blowout and finished with an eight-run sixth inning capped by Beaman’s three-run home run. The eight runs marked the most in an inning since 2019 for the Tigers.

On the mound, Jacob Kush (1-0) earned the win with 3.1 innings of relief work. The right-hander surrendered just one run while striking out three.

IMPACT INNING

Mizzou jumped on the Billikens with a six-run first inning. Torin Montgomery drew a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch to start the scoring. Leum followed with a two-run single to extend the advantage to 3-0. Tre Morris singled home another before a Ty Wilmsmeyer hit-by-pitch and Nander De Sedas sac fly rounded out the scoring.

  • Montgomery’s first-inning RBI was the junior’s ninth of the season. It was the sixth time in seven games Montgomery drove home a run in the first.
  • Beaman’s pinch hit, three-run home run was the sophomore’s first hit of his career.
  • Six Tigers had multi-hit games with Josh Day, Luke Mann, Tre Morris and Juju Stevens joining the parade alongside Leum and De Sedas.
  • 10 Tigers recorded an RBI in the win.
  • The 18 runs mark the second most this season for the Tigers, trailing only the 19 runs at Southern.
  • Mizzou’s 17 hits were the most this season and the highest output since a 21-hit day against SEMO in 2019.
  • The black & gold claimed its 11th-straight win over the Billikens.
