The United States Men’s National soccer team beat Australia 2-0 on Friday which gets them to the knockout round of the World Cup. The U.S. also went on to win Group D after Paraguay beat Turkey on Saturday morning.
The U.S. went up 1-0 in the 11th minute because of an own goal by Australia. Alex Freeman, who is the son of former NFL receiver Antonio Freeman, made it 2-0 in the 43rd minute.
It is the first time since 1930 that the Men’s National Team has won consecutive games in the World Cup.
The U.S. will play Turkey in their final group game this Thursday. They will have their first-game in the round of 32 on July 1st.
