West Plains Zizzers took on the Poplar Bluff Mules tonight, Friday, October 11, 2024.
The Zizzers start off strong after a bad ending to their game last week. Poplar Bluff starts in a hold within the first 16 seconds of the game. After a 8 minutes of good plays, the Zizzers make the first touchdown of the game, giving them a slight lead of 7 to 0. With just 31 seconds of the first quarter left, the Mules get their first touchdown, ending the quarter with a tie of 7 to 7.
The second quarter starts with the Zizzers first turnover of the game to the Mules. After an injury and a struggle, the Zizzers get the ball back and get their next touchdown, bringing them back in the lead with a score of 14 to 7. The Mules make a last minute touchdown with only 26 seconds of the first half left, bringing the end score to 13 to 14, after the fail to get the extra point to make it a tie.
After a slow start, the Mules make a 51 yard play and score a touchdown bringing them into the lead for the first time in the game with a score of 21 to 14. With 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, the Zizzers make an impressive play, scoring a touchdown and bringing the game to a tie of 21 to 21. The third quarter ends with no other touchdowns made for either team.
The Zizzers get the first touchdown of the last quarter of the game, reclaiming their lead with a new score of 28 to 21. The Mules get another touchdown before the end of the game, bringing them to a tie at the end and sending them into over time. 2 minutes into overtime the Zizzers get a touchdown bringing the score to 35 to 28, Zizzers in the lead. Overtime ends, with the Zizzers winning 35 to 28.
