Women’s Basketball Inks Sydney Mains

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women’s basketball has signed transfer guard Sydney Mains from Florida Atlantic, head coach Kellie Harper announced on Wednesday.

Mains, a sophomore, played under Missouri assistant coach Jennifer Sullivan a season ago. She played in three games for the Owls before missing the remainder of the 2024-25 season due to injury.

Mains made her collegiate debut in Florida Atlantic’s season opener against Flordia where she tallied four rebounds. She scored her first collegiate points, tallying six, shooting 50 percent (2-of-4) from the field and 3-point range, and adding a rebound against Mercer.

A four-year letterwinner at Knoxville Catholic High School, Mains played under her father and head coach, Travis Mains during her prep career.

Leading Knoxville Catholic to two state titles in 2023 and 2024, she was a three-time All-State Team and three-time All-Region Team honoree.

Mains was a three-time finalist for Tennessee Miss Basketball (2022, 2023, 2024) while totaling 2,325 career points and 356 made 3-pointers.

Mains joins Shannon Dowell, Saniah Tyler and Jordana Reisma in the Tigers’ offseason transfer class.
