The Royals had their four-game winning streak snapped in the Bronx. Kansas City lost to the New York Yankees 10-4 in the series opener at Yankee Stadium. Salvador Perez was 4-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Hunter Renfroe also homered, hitting his 13th of the year on a solo shot in the sixth inning. James McArthur was charged with the loss in relief and his seventh blown save after allowing four runs without recording an out. The Royals are second in the AL Central at 79-and-66. They visit the Yankees again tonight. Right-hander Seth Lugo is slated to start against New York righty Marcus Stroman.
