The West Plains Zizzers hosted the Waynesville Tigers at McDonald Stadium in West Plains on Friday, October 21, 2022. October 21st was Senior Night and Military Appreciation Night in West Plains, honoring not only the West Plains High senior class but also, active military service members and veterans.
The Zizzers took control of the first half of the game. West Plains kept Waynesville from making a score during the 1st quarter and scored two touchdowns. The Tigers were able to make their first touchdown of the game in the 2nd quarter but an interception led to a third Zizzer Touchdown in the final minute of the half. The halftime score was 21 to 6, the Zizzers leading the Tigers.
The Zizzers brought the thunder following halftime. During the third quarter, West Plains stopped Waynesville from adding to their score while putting another 14 points on the board. During the final quarter of the game, the Tigers were able to put 12 more points on the scoreboard but were unable to stop the Zizzers’ charge and another West Plains touchdown. The final score of the game was West Plains Zizzers 43, Waynesville Tigers 18.
The West Plains Zizzers next play at home on November 4, 2022 at the beginning of post-season. Their opponent will be determined next Friday.
