Claude Goetting, Sr

Claude Roy Goetting, Sr. was born May 9, 1950, in Thayer, Missouri, and died peacefully surrounded by family at home on July 14, 2021, in Thayer, Missouri at the age of 71 years and 2 months.

He was united in marriage to Lana Corrine Simpson in 1968, and they had two children, Claude Roy, Jr. and Misty Evita.

He is survived by his daughter Misty Evita Zaborac of Thayer, MO, and five siblings: Janice Manes and husband Ezra, Jr. of Thayer, MO, Sonny Goetting and Sara Ann Wright of Thayer, MO, William Goetting of Thayer, MO, Emma Crain and husband Mike of Parks, LA, and John Goetting of Thayer, MO. He leaves behind an extended, caring family of grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Roy was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Raymond and Louise Goetting, son Roy, Jr, and sister Anice Lorraine Manes, all of Thayer, MO.

He was a twenty-year U.S. Navy veteran who served aboard ships and then completed his Navy career in the Navy Reserves. He served his community several years as a Thayer policeman and volunteer firefighter. He was a dedicated rural delivery postman in Thayer and Myrtle, Missouri, a position he retired from. He loved to fish and relax in the Ozarks. Family and friends loved him very much and know he is at peace now.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm Friday, July 16, 2021, in the Thayer cemetery under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Thayer, MO, with Brother Todd Williams officiating.
