Yellville woman arrested on drug charges

     A Yellville woman, 51 year old Debra May Rios, was arrested on drug charges early Sunday morning, April 26th after a traffic stop was made.  At approximately 12:19 AM, Sheriff’s Deputy Jacob Zappa observed RIOS commit a traffic violation on State Highway 126 in the Midway area and conducted a stop.

     Deputy Zappa detected the odor of burned marijuana coming from the vehicle, and RIOS admitted to him that there was marijuana inside the car.  Upon conducting a search of RIOS and her vehicle, the deputy found approximately 2 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, and digital scales, empty baggies, and a smoking pipe.

     Rios was arrested and taken to the Baxter County Detention Center where she was booked on charges of:

Possession of Controlled Substance Purpose of Delivery (methamphetamine) – Felony
Possession of Controlled Substance (simple possession – marijuana) – Misdemeanor
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Misdemeanor

     Rios posed $7,500 bond and was released from custody.  She is scheduled to appear before the Baxter County Circuit Court to answer on May 28th.
