Helen June Conardy, 87, of Gainesville, MO passed away January 20, 2022 at her residence. She was born June 30, 1934 in Ozark County, MO to Alonzo “Lonnie” and Helen (Ebrite) Blisard.
Helen grew up in Ozark County and worked for the Ozark County Times during her high school years. She then went to Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar. After graduating from the two-year program, she began working for the state of Missouri’s Division of Family Services in 1958. She later went back and earned a degree in sociology and psychology from Drury College (now Drury University in Springfield).
Helen’s career with DFS spanned over 40 years, many of those in supervisory positions. She retired in 1999. She was a member of the Salvation Army, the Gainesville Lions Club, Women of the Moose and served as treasurer of the local Order of the Eastern Star. She has been published in Who’s Who of American Women and Who’s Who of Women of the World.
Helen is survived by one daughter Lynnette Samantha (Gott) Weaver and husband Sam; three step children Randy Conardy, Ronnie Conardy, Beverly Duncan; three grandchildren Lynnette Samantha Lee Sweeden, Megan Owens, Michael Gott; four great grandchildren Devin Joseph Hicks, Jeffrey Sweeden, Victoria Owens, Ian Owens; and a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lonnie and Helen Blisard; two sisters Bonnie Hackathorn and Eunice Elsworth; two brothers Vance Blisard and Joe Bill Blisard; one son Joseph Lee Gott; one step daughter Sandy English; and one grandson Daniel Joseph Hicks.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO with Gale Wooten officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. to service time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eastern Star “service dogs” program and can be left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
