West Plains, MO. –A southbound tractor trailer overturned north of West Plains today, shutting down part of Route 17.
The accident occurred around 9:45 a.m. near County Road 1500. A southbound tractor trailer carrying lumber ran off the right side of the roadway, attempted to correct itself and overturned in the process. The driver, Pricilla Powell, 58 of Birch Tree, was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered minor injuries. She was taken by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment.

The road was detoured down nearby county roads while crews cleaned up the road and removed the truck.
