Felon Grandmother Arrested for pulling Gun on Granddaughter

Ava, MO. – On May 3, 2022 the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Ava Police Department with serving a search warrant at the Pamela Brayfield residence on Denny Street in Ava. The search warrant was issued as a result of a case the Ava Police Department worked on Saturday, April 30, 2022 where Brayfield was alleged to have pulled a handgun on her granddaughter. Brayfield is a convicted felon and prohibited from possession firearms by Missouri Statue.
 
Pamela Brayfield, age 71, of Ava, Missouri was arrested at the time the search warrant was served and transported to the Douglas County Jail on a 24-hour hold. An Arrest Warrant was issued for Brayfield for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm a Class D Felony, Unlawful Use of a Weapon a Class E Felony, Assault 4th Degree a Class A Misdemeanor. Bond was set at $2500 cash bond only, no contact with victims, no firearms or ammunition in possession or residence.
 
Brayfield has since posted bond.
 
All suspects should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
