Café Operated by High School Students with Disabilities Now Open in West Plains

West Plains, MO. – A new café is open in West Plains and giving teens with disabilities an opportunity to develop valuable work skills. Wildflower Café, operated by Ozark Independent Living, is open on Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 207 Aid Avenue in West Plains.

The restaurant will have a menu consisting of “regular” items such as Ham & Cheese and Turkey & Cheese sandwiches (with tomato, lettuce, onions, pickles, mayo or mustard) as well as weekly specialty items such as a Southwest Queso Wrap.

A donation of $10,000 from the Gammill Family in West Plains helped make this venture possible. At Wildflower Café, high school students with disabilities will learn work skills in a positive “hands-on” environment that will empower them to be successful as they enter today’s workforce.
