After a troublesome 3-8-0 start to the season, the Blues have now won six straight and are looking for a seventh as they host the Ducks again on Monday night.

Pavel Buchnevich, one of the main drivers of the shootout win vs. Washington to open the homestand, continued to heat up his offense with four points (two goals, two assists) on the night. Previously thought to have his first career five-point game, Buchnevich’s assist on Robert Thomas‘ third-period goal was retracted by off-ice officials following the game.

With Vladimir Tarasenko sitting out Saturday due to illness, the newly-formed line of Buchnevich, Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrou stepped up in a big way. Adding to Buchnevich’s four, Thomas and Kyrou recorded three points each as the trio dominated their ice time.

Blues Head Coach Craig Berube hopes that the Blues can stay the course on Monday, though he expects a strong response from their opponents.

“(The Ducks) have pride, for sure, and they’re gonna give us a better game on Monday,” said Berube. “Just take it game-to-game, that’s it – that’s all you need to focus on.”

Adam Henrique and Cam Fowler provided the scoring scoring for Anaheim on the first matchup, each recording a goal and an assist.

The Blues enter Monday’s rematch with a 9-8-0 record, above .500 for the first time since Oct. 26 and with 18 points to share fourth in the division.
