Jami Deah Blackwell

Jami Deah Blackwell Brown, 58, of Poplar Bluff, MO, departed this life Sunday, December 24, 2023. She was born February 27, 1965, in Poplar Bluff to the late Jimmy and Darlene Blackwell.

To her family and all who knew her, Jami was “the BEST of the BEST”. A kind, thoughtful, and selfless person, she would reach out to others during their difficult times, reflecting her “heart of gold”. Jami was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was a rock, a model of perseverance, and exhibited strength during hardships. She considered herself as a “fulltime Nana” and focused on anything that involved her grandchildren. Growing up in a sports focused family, Jami liked to go deer hunting, golfing, and attending basketball games. She would balance these activities with shopping excursions and time with friends. Jami was a difference maker, an inspiration, and a blessing to others with her genuine nature and warm and friendly smile leaving cherished memories for all to treasure.

On March 25, 2005, Jami married Robert Brown in Las Vegas, NV. He survives. Also surviving are her children, Brett (Maggie) Reed of Hartville, MO, Haily (Logan) Boles of Doniphan, Darra (Justin) French of Birch Tree, MO, and Matthew Brown of New York City; a brother, Jimbo Blackwell of Doniphan; and grandchildren, Brilee Boles, Peyton French, Chase Boles, Jagger French, Taytum Reed, Slater French, and Rawley Reed.

In addition to her parents, Jami was preceded in death by a brother, Joey Blackwell.

Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. also in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Hunt-White Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearer will be Kasey Hunt, Mike Smock, Seth Blackwell, Bo Blackwell, Tyler Martin, and D. J. Gutscher.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jami’s name to the Hartville Eagles boys basketball team or the Doniphan Donettes basketball team.
