West Plains, MO. – Missouri State University – West Plains has announced the beginning date for its CNA training program. The program will start on August 5, 2024.
Officials with the workforce development and community education office offer an eight-week certified nursing assistant program as a non-credit course designed to provide training and clinical experience to the healthcare field. The eight weeks will include lectures, labs, and clinical instruction. The lecture and lab classes will meet from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays at different clinical sites. This program will offer the convenience of short-term evening classes, specialized training from licensed instructors with professional experience, a small class environment, and many career options upon successful completion.
The training classes cost $1,300 per person and include all supplies necessary to complete the training, an examination fee, and all the costs of a background check, tuberculosis test, and drug screening. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older before the first day of class, have a high school diploma or an equivalent, can lift 50plus pounds without restriction, and pass a criminal background check and a drug screening.
