Exercise Caution this Week; Heat Index Values up to 110

Despite the cool break from summer heat we received the past couple of weeks, that heat is coming back with a vengeance this week, with heat index values reaching as high as 110 within the Ozarks.

This comes from the National Weather Service, who go on to say that a heat advisory is in effect for most of the week, starting at 1pm today, and extending through to 7pm this Thursday evening. Overnight temperatures won’t be much of a relief either, settling in the 70’s.

A major cause for concern are Wednesday and Thursday, reaching peak wet bulb globe temperature values in western Ozark and Douglas Counties, and in eastern Oregon and Shannon Counties.

Watch for sign of heat exhaustion this week, and hydrate often.
