Lynn Lincoln McAfee

Lynn Lincoln McAfee was born on November 24, 1933, to James Lincoln and Myrtle (Bowen) McAfee, on Mill Creek in Missouri. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 18, 2024.

Lynn married the love of his life, Nola Maudeline (Velma) Counts, on August 25, 1956, in Shannon County, MO, and to this union, four children were born, Sheila, Debra, Jeffrey, and Rickey (Hobie). Lynn and Velma created a beautiful life filled with love and devotion that only deepened throughout the years. That love was passed down to their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lynn cherished and adored Velma until their final days together.

Lynn was a hard-working and conscientious employee at Combustion Engineering in St. Louis, Missouri, and later decided it was best to raise his family back home in the smaller town of Winona. Not long after returning to Winona, he began working at Paramount Cap Factory where he spent many years fulfilling several different positions. He enjoyed attending church, venturing out to deer camp, fishing, gigging, and spending time with family, friends, and his dog “Bosty”. Lynn especially delighted in a good fish fry, as well as, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.

Lynn is preceded in death by his loving wife Velma; parents Lincoln and Myrtle McAfee; brothers, Wilbur and Roy McAfee; sisters Pauline Bell, Freda Norris-Grandstaff, Lucille West, Helen Norris, Evelyn Atkins, and Emmalou Redman.

Lynn Lincoln is survived by five children, Sheila Plunk (Gary), Debra Kile (Mike), Jeffrey McAfee (Angie), Hobie McAfee (Shelly), and Lynn Voyles (Gordon), of Winona, MO; his grandchildren, Mika Lindsey (Scott), Shane Plunk (Jessie), Matt Kile (Meagan), Adeana Chrestman (David), Molly Derryberry (Matt), Jessie Spurgin (Justin), Nola McAfee, and Michael Voyles; his great-grandchildren, Lexi Lindsey, Sophie and Sadie Kile, Wyatt Spurgin, Jillian Plunk, Trevin and Tate Brewer, Lincoln, and Ben Derryberry; and another great-grandchild on the way, Ike Spurgin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Yarber Mortuary, Winona, Missouri, with Bro. Darrell Derryberry officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Pine Lawn Cemetery, Winona, Missouri.
