University of Missouri men’s basketball is joining the fight for literacy, hosting a book drive around its home game on Nov. 27 against Lindenwood.
Fans attending the in-state matchup are encouraged to bring gently-used books that will be collected at the main entrance of Mizzou Arena. The books will then be donated to Heart of Missouri United Way to support kids in the local area. In addition, the Tigers are inviting 1,300 local children and their families to the game as part of the promotion.
The Mizzou coaching and support staff is also set to wear pins to show their support for the cause as the Tigers take on the Lions.
Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, as the Tigers take on Lindenwood at Mizzou Arena.

Since 2013, teams have joined the Fight for Literacy presented by International Paper by hosting a Fight for Literacy Game during their season. Coaching staff and athletes wear #Green4Literacy and call their fans to join the #Fight: raise awareness and funds to support literacy programs in their community.
