Two Gainesville teenagers were injured Tuesday afternoon in a single‑vehicle crash on County Road 578, about half a mile south of Elijah.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 4:25 p.m. on May 13, 2026, when a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze traveling eastbound ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

The driver, a 16‑year‑old female from Gainesville, sustained minor injuries. A 17‑year‑old female passenger, also from Gainesville, was likewise reported to have minor injuries. Both were wearing safety devices at the time of the crash.
Emergency crews transported both teens by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment.
