Willow Springs Man Charged with Drug Trafficking

A Willow Springs man is facing felony drug‑trafficking charges after police say a traffic stop led to the discovery of more than 100 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

According to the probable cause statement, Officer Robert Shell stopped a blue Ford F‑150 on May 20 after the driver, 34‑year‑old Johnathon Goodman, failed to stop at a stop sign. The officer wrote that Goodman made “furtive movements around the vehicle” during the stop, prompting a request for a Howell County K‑9 unit. Deputy Malone’s K‑9, Spice, alerted to the odor of narcotics.

A search of the truck uncovered a black safe beneath the driver’s seat. Inside, officers reported finding multiple baggies of white crystalline shards, including one weighing 75.04 grams and others weighing 15.56, 8.04, 0.62, and 4.60 grams, along with syringes, unused baggies, cotton swabs, and a digital scale. The substances tested positive for methamphetamine using a TruNarc analyzer.

In total, officers documented approximately 103.86 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Goodman is charged with Trafficking Drugs in the 2nd Degree.
