Dustin Groat

Funeral Services for Dustin Gorat, Age 44 of Cabool, Missouri will be held on Saturday, May 30th, 2026 at The Caudle (Union Grove) FWB Church, beginning at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held in the hour prior, beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in The Tyrone Cemetery, Tyrone, Missouri.

Dustin Curtis Groat, son of David Wayne Groat and Valinda Sue (Middleton) Robertson, was born August 8, 1981, in Houston, Missouri. He departed this life on May 22, 2026, at the age of 44 years, 9 months, and 14 days.

Although David Groat was his biological father, he was raised by his step-father, Calvin Holloway, and Dustin referred to him as “dad.” Dustin married Erica Sartor in 2009 and one son, Carson Lane Groat, was born to this union. He also had two other children from other relationships, River Keeps Rowland and Hanna Michelle Groat, and two step-children, Taylor Hawkins and Kyle Charcoal.

Dustin was an avid outdoorsman. He could have lived on the river. He loved camping and fishing. He was employed at Rock Bridge Trout Farm where he truly enjoyed working. Later, he worked for Scott Connell Construction doing jobs for Walmart for nearly ten years. Dustin was really good at drywall work. He could also draw blueprints to build almost anything. He was currently employed by Brian and Leisa Childers in Cabool, building the new garage. Dustin loved riding motorcycles, His favorite thing to do was grill and smoke meat.

Dustin was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, John and Ethel Middleton and Paul and Melba Rose Frame; his grandparents, Crayton and Mavis Groat and Kenneth Middleton; and his baby brother, C.J. Holloway.

Dustin is survived by his children, Carson Groat, River Rowland, and Hanna Groat; step-children, Taylor Hawkins and Kyle Charcoal; mother, Valinda Robertson and husband, Newell; step-father, Calvin Holloway; siblings, John Holloway and Hollie Guy; grandmother, Gleneta Lane and husband, Jamie; step-grandmother, Priscilla Groat; nieces, Emily Holloway, Adelyn Guy, and Charlie Guy; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
