A West Plains man is facing multiple felony charges after police say a victim was critically injured in a shooting involving an air gun earlier this spring. According to a probable cause statement filed in Howell County Juvenile Division, officers were called to the 600 block of Shuttee on May 1, where they found an adult male unresponsive with multiple puncture wounds to his body, including his chest. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition and remains hospitalized with life‑threatening injuries.
Investigators later identified Dallas Michael Doyle as a suspect after witnesses reported that two juveniles shot the victim in retaliation for an earlier incident involving a family member. Detectives determined that an alibi provided for one of the juveniles was false, and on May 12 the victim was able to identify one of the suspects involved in the assault.
Doyle is charged with first‑degree assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon. His bond has been set at $100,000.
