A two‑vehicle crash west of Mansfield early Tuesday morning left one driver injured and both vehicles heavily damaged. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 5:50 a.m. when a westbound 2014 Chevrolet Cruze attempted to pass another vehicle and struck the rear of a 2010 Volvo SUV that had just entered the roadway from a crossover.
Troopers say the Cruze’s driver, an 18‑year‑old woman from Ava, suffered moderate injuries and was transported by Mercy Ambulance for treatment. The Volvo’s driver, a 35‑year‑old man from Mansfield, was not injured. A 20‑year‑old male passenger in the Volvo also reported no injuries and left the scene with a private party.
