Funeral Services for Sue Lawson, Age 74 of Houston, Missouri will be held on Saturday, August 15th, 2026 at The Evans Funeral Home, Houston, Missouri, beginning at 1:00 PM. Visitation will precede the service, beginning two hours prior at 11:00 AM.
Linda Sue (Beasley) Lawson, age 74, daughter of Foy and Margaret (Bush) Beasley, was born on April 28, 1952, in Andalusia, Alabama. She passed away on August 10, 2026, at her home.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Anne (Jim) Watson; and her brother, Jerry (Mary) Beasley. She is survived by her husband, Donald; two daughters, Pamela Kromer of St. Charles, MO and Melissa (Kevin) Moss of Byrnes Mill, MO; one brother, Harold (Mona) Beasley of Pensacola, Fla. and one sister, Sherry Beasley of Pensacola, Fla.; three grandchildren, Morgan Kromer, Michael Kromer, Jr., and Benjamin Moss, and several nieces and nephews. Sue also leaves behind many friends who are as dear as family.
Sue grew up in the Pensacola, Fla. area and graduated from Woodham High School in Pensacola, in 1971. She pursued a degree at Drury College and was proud to make the Dean’s List.
She married her high school sweetheart, Don Lawson, on May 19, 1972, and to this union two daughters were born.
Sue received Christ as her Savior and was baptized at about the age of 10 at Central Baptist Church in Pensacola, Fla. She remained a steadfast Christian throughout her life.
In keeping with her Christian principles, she spent almost her entire working career in positions to help others, working for the American Heart Association, then the American Red Cross, and finally devoting 28 years with Ozark Action Inc. to helping needy families in Texas County. She also guided many young lives as a Sunday School teacher and youth leader at Success Baptist Church and Bucyrus Baptist Church.
Sue loved working on the property she and Don owned, helping to build their home, and mowing and clearing woods to make their own private park. She also loved fishing, especially fishing with her husband, father, and brother on family farm ponds in Alabama. She was an accomplished metal detectorist and thoroughly enjoyed camping and metal detecting for gold in the Western states. Sue was a phenomenal cook, sharing love to her family and friends through food, and passed this passion on to her daughter, Melissa, and granddaughter, Morgan.
She was a devoted, wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was always looking for ways to help in each of those roles. She will be missed, but we know that she is enjoying the beauty of heaven, out of pain, and rejoicing in the presence of the One she has so long desired to meet.
