Michael Howard Hamre, son of the late Earl and Marilyn (Battistello) Hamre, was born August 14, 1965, in Pella, Iowa. He passed away on August 29, 2026, at his home near Ava, Missouri, at the age of 61.
Michael was united in marriage to Tammy McIntosh on May 5, 2007, in Red Lodge, Montana. Since the age of 17, Mike was a steel erecter working for the boilermakers union, primarily for Chicago Bridge and Iron. When he wasn’t working, Mike enjoyed being in the great outdoors caring for his lawn and animals. He also liked to go camping and fishing and was an avid golfer. He had a good sense of humor and enjoyed practical jokes and especially liked pulling pranks on his wife, Tammy.
Besides his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Boyce and Darlene McIntosh; his sister, Kathy Hamre-Jones; his brother, Larry Hamre; his brother-in-law, Max Jones; and a great-nephew, Caiden Knox.
Mike is survived by his loving wife Tammy Hamre; his brother, Earl Hamre (Robin) of Pella, Iowa; his sister, Linda Vander Werf of Pella, Iowa; nephews, Josh Hamre, Wade Hamre, Nathan Hamre, Norman Hamre, Keith Jones, Jeff Vander Werf, and Joe Vander Werf; nieces, Michelle Jones-Knox and Jennifer Van Gorp; numerous great-nephews and great-nieces; and a host of other relatives and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home of Mountain Grove. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Eureka Cemetery near Pella, Iowa.
