Mahomes was told by doctors early on that an October return date was realistic. He told them he would make it back for the start of the season.
Andy Reid said it is likely starting left tackle Josh Simmons will not play. He’s been dealing with a back issue. Injuries have been a question mark even at Ohio State for the second-year, former first-round draft pick. That could mean we’d see undrafted rookie Khalil Benson starting on the left side.
