Howell County Sheriff Joins Ozarks Pet Rescue in Saving Lives, Offers To Cover Puppy’s Adoption Fee

Howell County, MO – In celebration of National Change a Pet’s Life Day on January 24, 2025, Ozarks Pet Rescue was warmly welcomed by the Howell County Sheriff’s Office for a special visit featuring some of their adoptable animals. Sheriff Matt Roberts, who has expressed his love of animals, went the extra mile by announcing that he would personally cover the adoption fee for anyone who chooses to adopt the puppy he’s holding in the picture above.

Ozarks Pet Rescue is currently operating at full capacity, with a pressing need to find loving homes for their animals. Their lineup includes a variety of pets—puppies, kittens, adult dogs, and cats—all eagerly awaiting a second chance with caring families. To support this mission, the Howell County Sheriff’s Office organized this heartwarming meet-and-greet at the sheriff’s office to spread awareness and inspire adoptions.

For those unable to adopt, there are still plenty of ways to help. The rescue is in constant need of pet food, cat litter, towels, carriers, and donations to cover veterinary expenses.

Ozarks Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to saving animals by providing foster homes instead of cages and working to raise funds for affordable spay and neuter services. Adoption fees range from $100 to $150 and include vaccinations, spaying or neutering, and microchipping.
