Alabama Man Goes Airborne in Friday Crash near West Plains

West Plains, Mo. – An Alabama man destroyed signage after going airborne in a Friday crash. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred on Highway 63 near the southern city limits of West Plains at 11:50 a.m. on November 4.

A 2018 Subaru Outback driven by Tanner Mitchell, age 28 of Auburn, Alabama, was headed north on Highway 63 when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and became airborne. The Outback then struck a MoDOT Information sign and an advertisement sign before coming to a stop.

Mitchell had been wearing a seatbelt and only suffered minor injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare for treatment. The vehicle was totaled in the crash.
