The report says Bertholomey became angry after the victim and another woman took his phone to check whether he was cheating. During the argument, deputies say he punched the victim, chased her outside, and hit her again as she tried to get into her vehicle.

When deputies arrived at the residence, a child met them at the door and said Bertholomey was inside. Deputies found him hiding behind a blanket in a bedroom and took him into custody after he refused commands to get up.

EMS evaluated the victim, and deputies documented injuries. Four children were present during the incident and were described as crying and upset.

Bertholomey is charged with third‑degree domestic assault and assault third-degree, his bond was set at $10,000.
