A Fayetteville woman, 35 year old Stephanie Blythe Sellers, was arrested early Sunday morning, September 13th, on drug related charges during a traffic stop.
Sheriff’s Deputy Craig Kocka was traveling on Cardinal Drive in Mountain Home and observed a driver run a stop sign at the intersection of Cardinal Drive and First Street. Deputy Kocka conducted a vehicle stop shortly after midnight and made contact with the driver and a passenger in the vehicle. During the course of the stop, a Mountain Home Police officer arrived with his K-9 “Harmon”. Both the driver and the passenger were instructed to step out of the vehicle, and a canine sniff was then conducted around the exterior of the vehicle. “Harmon” alerted on the passenger side of the vehicle, at which point the passenger, Stephanie Sellers, told officers that she had two syringes loaded with methamphetamine in her hand bag that was in the vehicle. Officers then located those items and seized them as evidence. Sellers was then placed under arrest and transported to the Baxter County Detention Center for booking. The driver of the vehicle was issued a warning for the traffic violation and released.
Once at the Detention Center, Sellers was searched by a Jailer/Matron, who found a methamphetamine smoking pipe concealed on Sellers’ person. Sellers was charged with:
Possession of Controlled Substance (methamphetamine) – Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
Furnishing Prohibited Articles – Felony
She is being held in custody in lieu of $7,500 on those charges and will appear before the Baxter County Circuit Court on September 17th to answer. Sellers also is being held on an outstanding warrant from the Springdale Police Department for Failure to Appear in Court.
