Have You Ever Wanted To Become Certified In Flying Drones? MSU-WP Opens Up Drone Workshop

West Plains, MO. – Missouri State University – West Plains has opened up a workshop at the Lybyer Technology Center for area residents who are interested in flying drones. This workshop will be held August 5-7, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each day and will help individuals prepare for the FAA certification exam. 

For residents to be able to fly drones commercially they have to pass the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Exam. This workshop will cover the FAA’s Title 14  of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 107 exam requirements to become a certified pilot of small, unmanned aircraft systems. Topics will include airspace, aeronautical charts, weather, Meteorological Terminal Aviation Routine Weather Reports, aircraft loading, airport operations, judgment and decision-making, radio communications, and more. The cost of the drone workshop is $150.
