Pomona, MO. – The Howell County Sheriff’s Office recently addressed the public regarding an arrest that took place on Wednesday, May the 1st, where SWAT units were deployed.
At around 6:23pm, Deputies from the Howell County Sheriff’s Office traveled to a residence on Private Road 5080 in Pomona. They arrived to execute an arrest warrant on a man who had outstanding warrants for Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
It was then that they found the suspect, identified as Christopher Michael Smith, had barricaded himself inside the residence and refused to comply with law enforcement. SWAT units were deployed to the residence, where they then breached the structure and found Smith hiding inside a Furnace. He was taken into custody without further incident, and was found with suspected methamphetamine.
