Mountain Home came in second for the best place to retire in the Ozarks. The article plays off of the scenery, mentioning their lakes, rivers, and forests. They also comment on the Norfork and Bull Shoals area trails for bird-watching and wildlife-viewing adventures. Mountain Home’s downtown district draws people in with its historic buildings and dining options. The article also brings to attention that retirees over 60 have tuition waivers to the local college giving them free access to any classes provided by the college. For the final draw, the article mentions the median home price of $218,000 and food and fuel expenses being less than state and national averages.
