Mammoth Spring Man Charged For Death Of Juvenile After A Fatal Crash

Mammoth Spring, AR. – A Fulton County resident is now facing charges for a crash that killed a 17-year-old female. 43-year-old Evan French is being charged with one felony count of negligent homicide, two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, one count of driving while intoxicated, and one count of careless and prohibited driving.

According to the original cash report, the accident occurred on January 17, 2024. French was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup when he entered a downhill left-hand curve on State Highway 289 near Mammoth Spring. French then skidded on ice across the road which caused him to cross the center line and leave the road. The truck then hit a concrete box culvert and turned on its driver’s side causing the female juvenile to be ejected. She died at the scene.

Since the crash caused a fatality, authorities ran a blood test on French which said his blood alcohol level was at 0.17%. The legal limit is below 0.08%.
