Man Arrested After Smashing Girlfriend’s Face Into The Road

Mammoth Spring, AR. – A Mammoth Spring man was recently arrested and charged with a felony count of terroristic threatening, one count of fleeing on foot, battery in the third degree, and interference with emergency communication.

According to the probable cause affidavit, 33-year-old Michael Amrhein was arrested after the Mammoth Spring Police Department was dispatched to a residence after getting a call about a physical domestic dispute. When they arrived on the scene, the victim came running out of the residence screaming, “He attacked me!” Amrhein then ran out of the house and fled on foot into the surrounding woods. The North Central Unit dog team was contacted to continue the pursuit in the woods.

During an interview with the victim, she said that Amrhein called her and asked her to come over to work out their relationship. As soon as she arrived he began yelling at her and when she went to leave Amrhein tackled her on the road and continued to slam her face into the ground, cracking teeth. He continued to hit her and slam her into the ground as the victim yelled for the neighbors to call the cops. The neighbor told the victim to come over to his place but she answered, ” I can’t, he told me if I don’t go up there, he will kill me!”

At approximately 11:00 p.m., the dog teams apprehend Armhein from the woods. He is being held in the Fulton County Jail on bonds totaling $10,000.
