Jefferson City, MO. – Yesterday, the office of Missouri Governor Mike Parson announced that they would be dispatching several state organizations to aid Florida in response to Hurricane Milton damage response efforts.
Those deployed include 100 Missouri National Guardsmen, 21 members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and 5 from the Missouri Disaster Medical Assistance Team.
These men and women are being made to arrive in Florida once immediate weather threats from Hurricane Milton have passed.
This deployment has an estimated cost of $1.6 million, and is being covered by the Governor’s Office’s discretionary emergency response fund.
