The City of Mountain Home Parks and Recreation Department has been awarded a $108,607 grant to enhance McCabe Park by building ADA accessible trails and adding new fishing piers. This exciting development will help make McCabe Park more inclusive and enjoyable for residents and visitors of all abilities.
The grant check was officially presented by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and other state officials. Accepting the award on behalf of the city were Mayor Hillrey Adams, along with Sayre Whiteley and Allison Parks from Mountain Home Parks and Recreation, and Arnold Knox, the city’s Director of Planning and Engineering.
This funding comes from the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism, which is awarding a total of $3.85 million in Fiscal Year 2025 Outdoor Recreation Grants. These grants will support park and recreation projects across 20 counties in Arkansas.
