Salesville, AR. – A man from Salesville, AR., identified as 53-year-old Steven McCool is looking at multiple felony charges related to carrying drugs with the intent to deliver as a result of a traffic stop that happened early in the morning of Wednesday, September 4th.
The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office says that this traffic stop was initiated by Deputy Jacob Zappa on Baxter County Road 63 near Norfork.
The driver, Steven McCool, was found to be on parole with a warrantless search waver on file. A variety of drug paraphernalia and even a syringe loaded with meth inside were found, along with scales and cash. All items were seized, and McCool was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center.
The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office also added this statement near the bottom of the announcement:
“A review of McCOOL’S prior arrests and convictions revealed a lengthy history of approximately nine felony convictions in the State of Arkansas. According to court records, he has been convicted and sentenced to a total of 552 months of prison time in those various cases, with 432 of those months being suspended. In June, 2024, McCOOL was given another 60 months of probation to run concurrently while he was already out on parole for a 120 month sentence he received in March, 2016. This qualifies McCOOL as a habitual offender.”
