Storm Downs Trees, Knocks out Power Friday Morning

West Plains, MO. – Those waking up in the Ozarks today may find flooded, washed out roads, downed trees, or even their power out as they start their day.

This comes as a result of last nights storms that washed over sections of Douglas, Howell, Texas, and Wright Counties. While the scope of damage isn’t known across the widespread area, we do know that several county roads in Howell County have been or may be blocked due to trees.

In addition, the City of West Plains has announced a wave of power outages across the area as well as downed lines. At around 5am this morning, the Howell-Oregon Electric Coop stated just under 1200 members were without power.

Be aware of possible interruptions in your usual travel routes today, as damage is cleaned up, and leave your homes early to plan accordingly.
