Three people were injured early Saturday morning in a two‑vehicle crash south of Ava. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision happened at about 4:10 a.m. on Highway 5, roughly two miles south of town.
Troopers say an 18‑year‑old Zanoni man driving a northbound 2001 Chevrolet Silverado crossed the centerline and struck a southbound 2002 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 37‑year‑old Ava woman. Her vehicle then traveled off the roadway and overturned.

Both drivers suffered minor injuries. The 18‑year‑old was taken to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains, while the 37‑year‑old and a 47‑year‑old male passenger were transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
