Two Ava residents were arrested September 16 on active Douglas County warrants following a joint operation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Ava Police Department.
According to court records, 45‑year‑old Daniel Young was taken into custody on a grand jury indictment charging him with two counts of fraudulent use of a credit device, tampering with a witness, two counts of stealing, and identity theft. His bond was set at $2,500 cash only.
Amanda Young, 35, was arrested on an identical indictment charging two counts of fraudulent use of a credit device, tampering with a witness, two counts of stealing, and identity theft. Her bond was set at $25,000 cash only, with the court noting her prior criminal history as the reason for the higher amount.
The underlying case was originally investigated by the Ava Police Department.
