Three People Arrested in Douglas County for Drug Trafficking

Missouri State Highway Patrol report three individuals booked on felony drug‑trafficking charges following July 4 arrests.

59‑year‑old Richard L. Martin of Springfield was taken into custody Saturday evening and booked into the Douglas County Jail. He is being held on a 24‑hour hold on suspicion of felony drug trafficking in the second degree and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

MSHP also arrested 47‑year‑old Melissa L. Hulse of Nixa. Jail records list three felony counts of drug trafficking and a misdemeanor charge for possession of drug paraphernalia. Hulse is being held on a 24‑hour hold pending prosecutorial review.

A third suspect, 33‑year‑old Garrett S. Brewer of Springfield, was booked on multiple offenses. Brewer faces felony trafficking in the second degree, misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and several traffic‑related violations, including operating a motor vehicle without a valid license – second offense, failure to display valid plates, and operating a vehicle with vision‑reducing material. He remains on a 24‑hour hold at the Douglas County Jail.

All three cases are under review as prosecutors determine formal charges.
