Two Serious Accidents Occurred Over The Weekend After Head-On Collisions

Missouri – Two serious accidents occurred on Saturday, July 13, 2024, following two separate head-on collisions. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the first crash occurred at 5:15 p.m. on Highway 160, four miles west of Theodosia. 47-year-old Justin Dendinger was driving a 1994 Chevrolet pickup truck westbound when he crossed the center line and struck an oncoming vehicle. He was not injured in the crash. 70-year-old David Mahan was driving a 1970 Chevrolet pickup truck when he was struck head-on and was seriously injured. Mahan was transported via air ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment. This crash was investigated by Trooper K.L. Hogan and Master Sergeant C.A. Hogue of Troop G.

The second crash occurred at 7:40 p.m. on MO 17, seven miles north of Houston. 35-year-old Amanda Sandusky Esparza was driving a 2022 Nissan Sentra northbound and 58-year-old Donald Kinder was driving a 2017 Chevrolet pickup truck southbound when both vehicles crossed the centerline and struck each other head-on. Kinder was not injured in the crash. Amanda Sandusky Esparza was seriously injured and was transported via Mercy Lifeline to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment. A juvenile of an unknown age received minor injuries and was transported to Texas County Memorial Hospital for treatment. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Amanda Sandusky Esparza was not wearing her safety device. This crash was investigated by Trooper C.K. Johnson of Troop G.
