Collision involving van for disabled in Kansas City kills 2

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Two people died and two others were injured Thursday when a shuttle bus carrying two disabled passengers collided with a minivan in south Kansas City.

The crash occurred when the minivan for unknown reasons crossed the center line and collided with the bus, police spokesman Sgt. Jacob Becchina said. The bus driver honked the horn and tried to avoid the crash, he said.

The driver of the minivan and a passenger in the shuttle bus died at a hospital. The driver of the bus was critically injured and a passenger in a wheelchair at the rear of the bus was seriously injured, police said.
