Betty Mae (Jones) Bond was born February 19, 1940 in St. Louis County to Jack and Leona (Roark) Jones.
Betty graduated from Wentzville High School in 1958. In 1962, she met Ben and they were united in marriage October 19, 1963 in Chesterfield, Missouri making their union together 59 years. They were blessed with one daughter, Dana.
Betty was baptized at St. Pauls United Church of Christ on March 31, 1977.
While living in St. Louis, Betty worked at General Electric, Saberliner and several other places until she and Ben moved to Summersville in 1983. She worked at Mountain View Fab and GLB until retiring in 2000.
Betty enjoyed many things like cooking and having family parties, collecting cookbooks, cross-stitching, and making crafts that she sold at bazaars, helping Ben with cows, gardening and taking care of her flowers. Her one big love was the St. Louis Cardinals. Rest assured that if they were playing, she was either watching on TV or listening on the radio.
Betty always enjoyed doing things as a family with Ben and Dana. They were always active in hunting, fishing and camping until they moved to the farm. At which point she said with a laugh, “why do we need to go anywhere when we have everything we need right here and don’t even have to leave home!”
Betty passed away March 26, 2024 with her daughter by her side. She was 84 years old.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben; her parents, Jack and Leona Jones and a sister, Pam Jones.
Betty is survived by her daughter Dana of the home in Summersville, Missouri; three grandchildren, Milissa Bashford and husband Christopher of Wichita Falls, Texas, Rebecca Fetzer and husband Ryan of Wichita Falls, Texas and Dustin Grisham and wife Crystal of Bacliff, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Brantley, Ryder, Maxwell and Callie; sisters, Fae Koelling of St. Peters, Jacki McDowell and husband Joe of St. Peters along with many nieces, nephews friends and acquaintances.
