Dorothy Evelyn Davis, daughter of the late Edward and Celia (Morris) Smith, was born on June 21, 1931, in Douglas County, Missouri. She passed from this life on September 2, 2024, at the age of 93 years, 2 months, and 12 days.
Evelyn grew up on the family farm in Douglas County with many brothers and sisters. She attended Round Top School. On July 2, 1952, she married Irvin Davis in Mountain Home, Arkansas. They were married for 35 wonderful years. Evelyn was a talented quilter and seamstress. She also enjoyed gardening and canning. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Playing with her granddaughters was one of her greatest joys. She attended church at Westside Family Life Center in Willow Springs. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Celia Smith; her husband, Irvin Davis and an infant daughter; brother and wife, Harley and Elva Smith; brother and wife, Roy and Audrey Smith; brother, Billy Smith; sister-in-law, Carolyn Smith; sister and husband, Iretta and Dale Bennett; infant brother, Delbert Smith; and stepmother, Mildred Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Regina Owens and husband, Jim; granddaughter, Audrey Foster and husband, Scott; 2 great-granddaughters, Avery Foster and Quincy Foster. Also surviving are brothers and their wives, Tommy and Mary Lou Smith, Junior and Barbara Smith, Pete and Kay Smith; brother, Charles Smith; sister and brother-in law, Judy and Chuck Heathman, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends that will miss her very much.
A visitation for Evelyn will be held Friday, September 6, 2024, from 10 AM to 11 AM at Westside Family Life Center with her service immediately following with Pastor David Lovan officiating.
