Freddie Lee Thompson was born on June 18, 1939 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, the son of Vernie and Daisy Woten Thompson, and departed this life on November 25, 2020 at Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 81.
He was united in marriage to Betty L. Rogers on July 15, 1961 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.
Freddie is survived by his wife Betty L. Thompson of the home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; two children, Michael W. Thompson and his wife, Janey of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and Lesa A. Webb and her husband, Jeff of Mountain Home, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Jon Thompson and his wife, Lindsay and Saren Demaree and her husband, Derek; four great grandchildren, Xander Thompson, Cruz Thompson, Dallis Demaree and Declyn Demaree; other relatives; and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernie and Daisy Thompson; and one brother, Kenneth Thompson.
Freddie attended Mammoth Spring High School. He graduated with the class of 1957.
He was a master carpenter, building many homes in the Thayer-Mammoth Spring area. The buildings will remain a part of his legacy.
Freddie was a Christian and of the Baptist faith.
He was an avid fisherman on area streams. He was always in competition with his son-in-law Jeff to see who was most successful in number and size of fish they caught.
Freddie loved the outdoors. He always had a dog who would be with him in the outdoors and riding in the back of his truck.
Most of all, he loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with them and supporting them in all their activities.
Freddie will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services for Freddie Lee Thompson will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2020 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time on Friday, November 27, 2020 at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer, Missouri.
Burial will be on Friday, November 27, 2020 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thayer, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
