Graveside Services for Jim Ratcliffe, Age 93 of Fordland, Missouri will take place on Saturday, August 8th, 2026 in The Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, Iowa.
A Memorial Visitation will precede the Graveside Service on Tuesday, July 28th, 2026 at The Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Seymour, Missouri from 6:00-7:00 PM.

Robert James “Jim” Ratcliffe, Sr., was born in Dallas, Texas, to Edward Lee and Vera V. (Pennington) Ratcliffe on November 24, 1932. He passed away on July 22, 2026, at the age of 93 years, 7 months and 28 days.
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, where he earned the Korean Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Following his military service, Jim returned to Texas, where he initially worked in the oil fields and eventually bought a farm. He later moved to Mississippi, where he owned and operated a pottery company. He finally returned to Texas, where he finished his working years in the oil fields of South Texas.
Jim was a hard worker who took pride in everything he did. He enjoyed milling and collecting wood, staying informed on politics, and sharing his knowledge and opinions with those around him. He was known for his generous spirit and was always willing to help someone who was down on their luck.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Anna (Lawson) Ratcliffe, his grandson, Jeremy Wynn, sisters, Vera Kopal and Edna Merle Melon, and his parents, Edward Lee Ratcliffe and Vera V. (Pennington) Ratcliffe.
Jim is survived by his companion of seven years, Patricia Burks, his children, Robert Ratcliffe, Jr., Rebecca Ratcliffe, Anda Kay Wynn, Latricia Wilkerson (Scott), Penney Ratcliffe, Tony Rimer (Judy), Gordon Rimer (Angie), Kevin Rimer, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and many friends who will miss him dearly.
His life was marked by service, perseverance, and kindness, and his memory will live on through the many people whose lives he touched.
