JoAnne Elaine Clemann, age 70, of West Plains, MO, passed away at Ozarks Healthcare in West plains, MO on April 30, 2024. She was born February 11, 1954, to William and Marcel (Mercer), in Iowa.
JoAnne is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Charles “Charlie’ Lawrance. She is survived by one brother, William “Billy” Clemann, nieces, Micah and Melissa, nephew, Kyle, along with great nieces and nephews.
At a very young age JoAnne and her parents moved to San Bernardino, CA. There she attended Community Bible Church with her family for many years. As a child, she started her school days at Kendall Elementary and completed public education at Cajon High School. Joanne enjoyed spending time with her brother and cousins while growing up. Special memories were made, like when they visited Knott’s Berry Farm as kids.
JoAnne married, to that union, her son, Charles Lawrance was born. He was the joy her heart had longed for. Joanne loved Charlie so very much and was always so proud of him. She followed Charlie to Missouri, eventually settling in West Plains. All his school pictures, certificates and awards became her treasures after his passing.
JoAnne found it fun to ride the city transit bus, she liked to visit with those driving or riding, while looking at what was going on around town. She was always up for going shopping and out to eat as well, Mexican food was one of her favorites.
The last several years she resided at Southview Assisted Living. There she formed special friendships. She appreciated those that were good to her there.
JoAnne became part of a church family at Cornerstone Family Worship. There she made many friends that loved and cared for her. She always looked forward to the regular services as well as the extra activities. She especially enjoyed going to singings and the monthly birthday meals with her senior group, Young At Heart. She was truly grateful for those that made sure she had a ride to and from church and made the extra stops for a drink or maybe even a blizzard along the way.
JoAnne liked to laugh, make jokes with others and to just spend time talking to people. A lot of her time would be spent reading her Bible, journaling and coloring/painting in her many books.
After losing Charlie, she struggled with sadness that came from a mother’s broken heart. For many years, more so as her health declined, she longed to go home to Heaven. The last week of her life she spent in the hospital, where she was visited by so many that reminded her, she was loved very much.
Memorial Service will be held at Cornerstone Family Worship on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 7 PM prior to the regular church service.
