Katie Tetrick

Katie Maxine Tetrick, daughter of the late Donald J. and Lillie May (Roadlander) Bradshaw, was born March 30, 1942, in Norwood, Missouri, and departed this life on September 1, 2024, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. She was 82 years, 5 months and 2 days of age. 

Katie grew up in the Norwood area, spent her childhood there, and graduated from Norwood High School. She loved spending time with her younger brother, Johnny. Katie loved every kind of animal. She was also a huge fan of Elvis Presley. She enjoyed collecting things and especially treasured her collection of salt and pepper shakers.

Katie met and married the love of her life, Windle Tetrick, in June of 1981 and they spent as much time together as they could. She even went with him when he was driving his semi-truck. They truly were a match made in heaven and they cherished their time together as well as the time that they spent with family and friends. 

She worked for Brown Shoe Factory for many years, then she went on to nursing school and enjoyed a career in home health. She loved to help others. This job allowed her to assist people she may not have otherwise gotten to know. In her final job before retirement, she worked for Beehler Steel Factory. 

Katie lived her life to the fullest. She was a vibrant soul who was always there when someone needed her. She loved life and was always surrounded by her family and friends. Katie was willing to go the extra mile when it came to helping or supporting her family and those she knew and loved. She was a wonderful woman with a vibrant personality. She was a proud breast cancer survivor and was always willing to support the cause. Being a strong woman enabled her to endure and survive cancer. She was an example to be followed in her positive attitude throughout her battle. 

Besides her parents, Katie was preceded in death by a nephew, Daniel Bradshaw, and one great-niece, Danekka Dobbs. 

Katie is survived by her wonderful husband of 43 years, Windle Tetrick, her brother, Johnny Bradshaw, and his wife, Cathy of Mountain Grove, Missouri, her niece, Elizabeth Young, and her husband, Jeremy of Mountain Grove, her fur baby, Trixie Marie, as well as a host of family and friends that will miss her very much.
